2025-2026 Council

Friendship. Leadership. Service. Knowledge. Integrity. Community.

Dear Potential New Members, Current Sisters, Families, and Friends,

I am Lexie Samuelsen, and I have the privilege of serving as the President of the Panhellenic Council at Christopher Newport University this year. On behalf of the council, I am excited to welcome you to our website, where you can explore more about our chapters, values, and the incredible opportunities that come with being part of the Greek community here at CNU.

Our Panhellenic community is made up of over 400 strong, driven women who are committed to upholding the highest standards of scholarship, leadership, service, and sisterhood. The sisterhoods here are not simply organizations; they are communities of support. Each unique chapter plays a vital role in creating an environment where every woman feels welcomed, supported, and empowered to thrive both within and beyond their chapter.

A little glimpse into my personal journey within Panhellenic: When I first came to CNU, I never imagined participating in Greek life. Sororities didn’t seem like something meant for me. However, at the start of my sophomore year, I decided to give informal recruitment a try. Through meaningful conversations with women from each chapter, I quickly realized this was a community I wanted to be a part of. Learning about the values, service, and sisterhood each chapter embodied, I felt an immediate connection to each one, and ended up running home to my own. Being a part of something bigger than myself gave me a sense of purpose, and I immersed myself fully in the experience.

When the opportunity to apply for Panhellenic council arose, I hesitated at first, as my role in my chapter had been relatively small. However, encouraged by my sisters and those from other chapters, I took the leap. The outpour of support I received from women across the Panhellenic community when the Slate was approved confirmed that I had made the right choice.

Serving on the council has been nothing short of amazing. Working alongside six incredible women who share a dedication to uplifting and uniting the Panhellenic community has been both inspiring and so rewarding. Chapter unity is especially important to me because no matter which chapter you call home, your bonds within the community remain strong. I am committed to creating an environment where every member feels at home and has a positive experience, both inside their chapter and within the broader Panhellenic community.

Becoming a Panhellenic woman was the best decision I’ve made in college. It has instilled in me a confidence and passion that I will carry with me throughout my life. The relationships built within this community extend far beyond college and are something that I, along with my Panhellenic sisters, will always cherish.

If you are interested in learning more about the Panhellenic experience or any of the seven chapters here at CNU, I encourage you to explore our website, follow us on social media, and reach out with any questions.

With love,

Lexie Samuelsen
