Alpha Phi was founded in 1872 when ten of Syracuse University’s first female students decided that they were not satisfied with merely participating in the classroom. Our motto, Union Hand in Hand, ensures that Alpha Phi is more than just a Greek organization: It’s a community of empowered women supporting one another for a lifetime.
